Contents Of A Food Parcel

Contents Of A Food ParcelOur Food Bank parcels have been nutritionally balanced to provide basic food for a week’s worth of meals.

We use a standard list of items to pack each food parcel and adjust the amount according to how many people there are in each household.

Where possible we will address any specific dietary needs you may have, for example if you require gluten free items or are vegetarian. However, we do ask that you take responsibility for checking all products we send to you carefully to ensure they are safe for you to consume. We can also adapt the food parcel according to the cooking facilities that you have available - we are aware that some people don’t have a hob and need food that can be microwaved or made up using a kettle.

A standard food parcel for one person for one week contains:

Contents may vary in line with the donations we receive and the stock we hold.  Clients who come into the Food Bank to collect their parcels can also select some margarine and cheese.

On request we can also supply small quantities of cat and dog food, cleaning products, toiletries and baby products such as nappies.
